Donate your vehicle

What can I donate?
We accept cars, motorcycles and recreational vehicles. Most vehicles are accepted, except those that are heavily damaged or incomplete. Colorado Humane’s Drive In Donation Program accepts donations in the Front Range area from Ft. Collins to Pueblo and the Western Slope area.

How do I donate my vehicle?
Call (303) 308-2400 or 1 (866) 623-CARS (2277) to make your donation and arrange for your vehicle to be picked up. Please have ready: the title to your vehicle (it must be in your name), location of your vehicle and the general condition and mileage of your vehicle. The car will be picked up by Vehicles for Charity which will process the title, sell it at auction, and give 60% of the proceeds to Colorado Humane (the remaining 40% goes to Vehicles for Charity, a non-profit that benefits people with developmental disabilities). Some restrictions may apply.

Is my vehicle donation tax deductible?
Yes. As of January 1, 2005, the law allows a deduction equal to the gross proceeds from the sale of your donated vehicle, because Colorado Humane is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Please consult your tax advisor for more information.
